Building Owner

Non-Profit

A wide range of buildings and organizations

Nonprofits cover many categories: social services, healthcare facilities, social and recreational clubs, theaters, museums, and more. That means they face a wide array of energy challenges, and C-PACE is a great solution for solving them.

C-PACE helps nonprofits overcome a lack of upfront capital to make energy improvements – resulting in more modern and comfortable buildings for employees and the communities they serve.

Nonprofits can take control of their energy costs and increase their bottom line with C-PACE. Lower, more predictable energy costs mean they can focus their resources on their core mission.

C-PACE works for nonprofits

An organization’s tax-exempt status does not mean it can’t access C-PACE. Nonprofits don’t typically receive a property tax bill, but their municipality can assign a tax identification number in order to collect a C-PACE benefit assessment (similar to collecting a sewer assessment). This means a nonprofit group can access all the benefits of green energy improvements under the same rules as other applicants.

The Bushnell: See how one CT nonprofit is saving energy and money

David Fay and Lynn Robinson knew they had to address energy challenges at The Bushnell. Their boiler was old and inefficient. They knew that they would need to address its poor performance and high operating costs. But, as leaders of a nonprofit, David and Lynn found themselves in a financial corner – until they found C-PACE. It offered long term, fixed rate financing that made the latest technology and annual savings possible. Now, thanks to C-PACE, the show can go on in Hartford. Learn more about their project.
